“Moose Gets The Job Done”

It’s spring up north the air is clear

And animals roam far and near.

The children in the human’s town

Have chores before they play around.

So as they load their sled this day,

Both boy and girl just want to play.

Boy said, “Let’s go down to the store

And hurry back to play some more.”

Then girl said, “Yes, And as we go

We’ll look for friends out in the snow.”

So on their way, pulling their sled,

Past snowman’s hill they both were led.

Then to the store to trade their goods

And back towards home through the big woods.

Moose and his friends just watched them go

Pulling their sled over the snow.

Near snowman’s hill, they stopped to rest

And then came boy and girl’s big test.

Girl said, “Let’s stop and play a while

Before we go.” And snowman smiled.

He knew just what would happen then.

And so did moose and all his friends.

The boy and girl just dumped their goods

To ride their sled all through the woods.

Then as it started getting late,

They had to leave and could not wait.

The sun gets low as daylight fades,

And they can’t find the pile they made.

Boy said, “We need to go back home.

It’s too dark in the woods to roam.

Tomorrow we can come back here,

And in the light search everywhere.”

But moose and all his friends just knew

That there was something they could do.

So, after boy and girl had gone

The friends all gathered one-by-one.

Moose said, “Let’s pick up all the goods

And take them to the neighborhood.

Then boy and girl won’t be so sad,

If mom and dad say they’ve been bad.”

Two geese flew down and took some bags.

Two penguins grabbed clothes by their tags.

Four animals already done,

Then walrus pushed a box for fun.

Three bears helped moose with his big load

Then pulled the rest to clear the road.

Nine friends had gone about a mile

And passed by snowman as he smiled.

Then, at the children’s house, they placed

The goods the kids had left in haste.

And looking through their home’s window

The children smiled and watched them go.
