“Moose Plays Hide And Seek”

Again we find our friends outside

Playing games to run and hide

Up north in freshly fallen snow,

Snowman watches them come and go.

First one, now two, and then three bears

Down toward the water, hiding there.

And then two geese flew very high,

So no one saw them in the sky.

Five friends already gone from sight,

Nobody knew that two took flight.

Two penguins waddling very slow,

Hid in a hole dug in the snow.

Now seven friends already gone

So there was left just only one,

Four walrus then to seek and find.

So Moose had very little time,

And using snowman as a wall

He tried to make himself real small.

Seven, eight, nine, ten,

Walrus counted to the end.

And as he stopped and turned around,

He saw the Penguins ducking down,

And big moose antlers peaking out,

Behind the snowman wall, no doubt.

So as he tagged them out that day,

He saw three bears running away.

Walrus yelled out,”I saw you run,

And that makes six, I’m almost done.”

Then walrus looked for geese to chase

And could not find their hiding place.

Then two geese flew down from the sky

And yelled, “home free!” Walrus said, “why?”

“You’re not supposed to leave the ground.

It is not fair to fly around.

I’m never going to play with you.

You think rules don’t apply here too?”

So angry walrus went away

And geese did not know what to say.

Moose said, “You know it was not right,

When you flew high and out of sight.

Why don’t you go apologize.

And snowman’s smile said Moose was wise.

So geese found walrus far away,

And this is what they had to say,

“We knew that flying was not fair,

But did not mean to hurt you there.

We thought that it was just a game

But it hurts friendships just the same.

So come back please, let’s make this right

And we can play more games, not fight.”

Then walrus left and joined his friends

And everything was fine again.
