Why Read “The Moose And The Snowman” series of stories?

The Moose adventures are a series of readers designed to assist in the instruction and development of social skills in children, through the experiences of the group of animal friends as they interact in their daily playtime activities.
From the first book, which develops the initial character set and provides a focus for those who may be shy or introverted, in a story about making friends, through the following stories which address bullying, name-calling, helping others, forgiveness, negotiating, being different, acceptance and much more. With the main character, the Moose, providing the focus for the series, his wiser than his year’s guidance of the group, teaches the many life lessons that are sometimes learned the hard way during the animal friends everyday playtime activity. Our hope is that we can address these issues in a controlled learning environment before they become an issue in real activities.
It is our desire to present each Moose adventure in a colorfully illustrated rhyming text format, (currently under construction) complete with an instruction guide to explain the relevance of the text. A list of suggested discussion questions and follow-up activity suggestions, (Moose Games), are also found, to add multiple routes of instruction for a greater learning experience.
