“Moose And The Thank-You Song”
Series #H Book #2: by Ray Perseghin, Sara K Enterprises, ©All Rights Reserved
The sun was bright with late fall’s light
And Moose was out viewing the sights.
While all the friends were dancing around,
Snowman just enjoyed the sound
Of laughter as they danced for joy
And filled the air with a happy noise.
It was the time to laugh and sing
And now give thanks for everything.
Two Geese flew circles in the sky
And three Bears just went running by.
Then Moose and Snowman joined the fun
Along with Penguins on the run.
Yes, Moose and Snowman, Geese and Bears,
With two more Penguins, nine were there.
All giving thanks for what they had,
But Walrus lay there feeling sad.
Moose said, “Hey Walrus, Why the face?
Being sad today is out-of-place.
We should give thanks for being blessed.”
Then, Walrus said, “I’m just depressed.
I’m thankful for my friends, that’s sure.
I just don’t think there is much more.”
Moose said, “OK, We’ll help you out,
And show you what it’s all about.”
So then Moose gathered all the friends
To circle ’round Snowman again.
And as they danced they sang a song
Of thanks to help them move along.
(sung to the tune of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”)
Let’s all sing a song of praise,
Of happiness and boundless days,
Of thanks for all the things we see,
The blessing of nature’s beauty,
For time to play and time to pray,
For waking healthy every day,
For friends and family who all share
A love for our Creator’s care.
Moose said to Walrus, “If you’re sad
And think that you have got it bad,
Then help someone to make it through,
Who is worse off than even you.
Then you’ll be happier, I bet,
To give away more than you get.”
And Walrus said, “I see your plan,
It’s helping others if you can.”
Then Snowman smiled as all the friends
Joined Walrus and danced ’round again.
And as the snow began to fall,
A white blanket covered them all.
For soon the winter’s cold would come
And all their dancing would be done.
Then two Geese left for southern skies
And all the friends said their goodbyes.
From winter’s cold, they left to hide,
While Moose stood there by Snowman’s side.
“Well Snowman, here we are again.
Thank you again for being our friend.”
