Series II Book 1: “Moose’s Rescue Reunion” Discussion

It is not unusual for children to wander off, in many situations, where they are restrained by a house, a yard, or some kind of physical barrier. A child’s natural curiosity prevails, and their natural lack of fear and understanding of the many dangers surrounding them does not help the situation. It is crucial then that there is a discussion with regard to the consequences of their actions and activities.

In this story, we try to accomplish several objectives. The first is to bring together again the cast of animal characters from their winter hibernation or activities. The second is to give them a mission that will utilize their skills as well as bring them together again with their human friends. And, lastly, to open up a conversation with our audience that would focus on the dangers of activities outside of the watchful eye of their guardians.

Here, our characters, boy and girl, choose to ignore several rules: Never leave any defined area when instructed to stay close by; Always make sure that your guardian knows where you are and where you may go; Be properly prepared for any change in your situation, weather, terrain, injury, etc. This story puts our boy and girl lost in a snowstorm, far away from home, and freezing as nightfall approaches. Back at home, everyone searches and worries about them, with no idea where they may have gone. Only our animal friends and their natural instincts can bring the children safely back home.
