“Moose Faces Fright Night”

Series # H Book # 1 : by Ray Perseghin, Sara K Enterprises, ©All Rights Reserved

As fall was coming to a close

Something strange reached Moose’s nose.

Snowman had felt the strangeness too

And shivered as the cold winds blew.

Moose had felt this all before

And was not laughing anymore.

The night that all his good friends fear

Was drawing very, very near.

The time had come, “All Hallows Night”

When shadows moved among the lights,

And all the friends were filled with fear

As ghosts and goblins roamed too near.

Two Geese flew down and joined Moose there

And said, “We’re looking for the Bears.

They said that they were going to hide.

Just find a hole and crawl inside.”

Moose said, “There’s nothing they should fear.

This night comes lurking every year.”

But Moose was really not so sure.

He’d never been this scared before.

Just then Walrus joined them too,

As stars replaced the sky of blue.

One Moose, two Geese, and Walrus four,

Then Penguins joined them from their shore.

Six friends around and Snowman smiled

While three Bears hid out in the wild.

Moose said, “Hey! Why are we all scared?

There’s really nothing bad out there.

This night comes ’round once every year.

And we should really face our fear.

Together we can make it through.”

Then Geese said, “Show us what to do.”

“Let’s find the bears and then we’ll talk.”

Moose said as they began to walk

Into the dark and through the woods,

Then to the human’s neighborhood.

And from a distance, soon they saw

The three Bears crouching by a wall,

As ghosts and monsters walked close by,

And frightening noises filled the sky.

Then when it happened, Bears just screamed.

Just frozen where they stood, it seemed.

Two goblins crept behind the bears

And then yelled,”BOO! We’ll get you there.”

So running fast as three Bears could,

They went screaming toward the woods.

Moose said, “Now watch the goblin’s face,

Then we’ll find Bears new hiding place.”

But laughing is all they could hear

Behind the goblin’s mask of fear.

As Boy and Girl, both walked away

Knowing they had scared their prey.

Then Moose said, “See it’s just for fun.

Those monsters can’t hurt anyone.”

The friends then walked into the night

All laughing at the Fright-Night sights.
