“Moose And the Christmas Rescue”

Series #H Book #3: by Ray Perseghin, Sara K Enterprises, ©All Rights Reserved

As Christmas time was drawing near,

And joyful music filled the air,

Big Moose was going for a walk

Close to the town where people talk.

Both Boy and Girl were in their home.

It was too cold outside to roam.

Beneath their window, Moose just stood,

And listened closely as he could,

To what it was they had to say

And what had happened here this day.

Girl said, “But, Dad is always there.

Now they can’t find him anywhere.”

Boy said, “It’s just a small delay.

They’re going to find him soon, they say.”

Girl said, “He left five days ago

And must be stuck out in the snow.”

Boy said, “The snow has gotten worse,

And must have put Dad way off course.”

But Moose had heard enough for now.

He had to find their dad somehow.

So out he went to join the search

And make sure their dad was not hurt.

With heavy snow still falling down,

The chance was slim Dad would be found.

So Moose searched way into the night

And still, there was no Dad in sight.

Then from above Moose heard a noise

And saw a sled designed for toys.

The ‘Super Sled’ and Santa too,

“Hey Moose!” he said, “Can we help you?”

Moose said, “It’s Dad we can not find.

And we are running out of time.”

“OK! Hook-up, You know the drill.

There’s no time left to stand there still.”

With Moose in front, the sled went high.

Faster they flew across the sky.

And as they rose a little higher,

They saw the glow of a small fire.

And huddled close there to get warm,

Was Dad and sled dogs in the storm.

So down the sled went from the sky,

Onto the snow, landing nearby.

Then Santa yelled, “Hey Dad! This way.

We’ll have you home before it’s day.”

The ‘Super-Sled’ rose to the sky,

With Dad and sled dogs warm inside.

And soon they made it to the town,

To land the sled back on the ground.

Dad said, “Thanks, Moose, and Santa too,

But who’ll believe I rode with you?”

Then Santa said, “Oh That’s alright.

Just leave cookies on Christmas night.”

“On Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Vixen,

On Comet, Cupid, Donder, and Blitzen.

C’mon Moose it’s time to go.”

And away they flew into the snow.
